The old saying "what a difference a day can make" has never been more true ...even tho life seems like it barely moves at times, it really is moving faster than I can keep up with.
I have been trying to write songs for 8 years now and the biggest challenge is to think of something interesting enough to write about...sometimes it takes months before an idea pops up but the last few weeks the flood gates of events in my life for song ideas just keep flowing and flowing and flowing...and along with them, lyrics and melodies.. This next album is almost half written...which is nuts to me...only Jack White can write this fast!
the song list up to today includes: Deja Vu, Short Stick, Cry Baby, maybe "Show Time", not sure the metaphor I want to use is appropriate, Upside Down, and now after one of the most refreshing 24 hour periods in the last several months... a new song called Sparrows from New Mexico. its a song about a girl, a tattoo...and freedom
I can see that the album is gonna be a journey in which the songs run the gamut from heartbreak to triumph and Sparrows from New Mexico is the turning point. All of a sudden this is becoming a whole lot of fun..so I hope the record turns out like i think it will...
got the music and the lyrics to the 1st verse and chorus written today:
1st verse;
I was stuck in a cell, a cell of rejection
a prison of my self pity
thought it was hell, my hell was perception
thought it was meant to be
chorus:
there were sparrows from New Mexico
flying over me
sparrows from New Mexico
come to set me free

Jeff...Hey guy! Well, yes indeedy it seems some things have changed since last time. So much going on every which way for both of us thru out thes past Holilday/ hellish days (well that's how its been for me workwise). Must say I totally agree with about how great your music is flowing as of late. Like a freebrid set free ---your melodies, words awesome CG once more full of emotion. YOU'RE new stuff is blowing me away. Yes, the past few have been absolutely old CG GREATt. A bit high in the background treble, but that could be this dang new music program. Other than that the last two are flick my bic for!!! xxx Rock ON! : )
